  • ⚠️03:00 The physically hardest day: 4,998 m on your third day after sea level. Anyone with a headache or poor sleep on 3–4 Nov should discuss staying in Cusco with the organizer. Under clause 13.2 of the contract the organizer must hold a briefing and name the turnaround point.
  • 🐴In the morning Decide whether to go on the morning itself, by how you feel. A horse reduces the effort but not the altitude risk: the final 300–400 m are on foot regardless. Treat the Red Valley as fully optional. Local guides hand out trekking poles.
